Student Activities & Admission
More than 241,000 applicants register for the CAT (Common Admission Test), a nationally administered test, acknowledged as the most difficult MBA entrance exam in the world by the Economist Intelligence 2003 Survey. 362 final calls are issued after a multi-tier selection procedure that involves the CAT test score, academic potential, motivation and subsequent performance in the interview and group discussion phases. Those that survive have the privilege of wearing the IIMC tag with honor and they're indeed the best of the best.
The Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, is a melting pot of the crème-de-la-crème of students from all parts of India. They bring with them diverse educational profiles and work experience. Students at the institute display exceptional talent and a history of accomplishment. The potential for leadership, the ability to work in groups and orientation for purposeful action are prerequisites for students who gain admission here.
This makes for a truly rich two years of management education for the students during the Post Graduate Program in IIM Calcutta.
